Chloe and Cookies

Chloe is 1 year old!
Some things we love about our Chloe...
She's so happy
She loves her babies
She's so chubby and fun to squeeze
She is sneaky and quick (always getting into things that she shouldn't)
She gives lots of kisses
We love her so much and can't believe it's been a whole year since she came into our family!

Blowing out her candle on her cookie.
Yes we made birthday cookies instead of cake.
 So messy yet so fun!

She got some fun new toys!
She wanted to climb all over it
All 4 kids liked this one and Chloe wanted it all to herself.
She gets her point across by screaming.
This is her cute kissy fish lip face.
Love you bunches Chloe, Happy Birthday!

We also made sugar cookies this fall break weekend, mostly for Chloe's b-day but it's a tradition too.
They all have to be on the counter so they can see and help.
And finally when we are done mixing they all want some dough, yumm.
And then there's the frosting/decorating part.
And eating of course.

 Yay finally done!

One more thing to add to this post.  I think our Anna is a little clutzy, she's had a few injuries to add to the fun of the weekend.
She fell as she was running home from my sister's house and scraped up her nose and forehead.
Then today she was running around in the house and tripped and hit her head on the corner of the wall and got the biggest goose egg I've ever seen. At least on my kids.

The poor thing looks pretty pathetic and beat up. Hopefully that's the last of her injuries for a while.

Trick or Trunk?

I am a believer in traditions and I also think trying new things is good too. I am having a hard time liking the trunk or treat thing.  I know it's a big hit with a lot of people and I can see the plus side of it. I just can't give up the trick or treating tradition. Some of my favorite memories as a kid are going around with a couple parents and lots of kids from the neighborhood and knocking on doors and saying those magic words and filling up a bag with yummy treats. I want my kids to have that experience and I'm afraid it is going to disappear. I don't have anything against trunk or treating but in my town I don't think it's necessary because  I think it's still a safe place.  In the big cities I am all for it.  I also want my kids to have to work a little to get that much candy, not just walk around the parking lot and then going home. Yes I know you can do both but personally I don't have the money to do both and I would feel greedy.  And if we didn't have candy at our house there would be a lot of kids disappointed because they come to see Mr. D.  I also think Halloween should be about the family, or have the family deciding what everyone is doing. I don't like feeling like a hater because we won't be going to the ward trunk or treat. My family has the tradition of making donuts and trick or treating. I think if the ward wants to do something it should be on a different night (especially this year because it's on a Monday but we won't get into that).  I'm sorry if I have offended anyone that is not my purpose.  I know no one is asking me to give up anything I just wish it didn't have to be such a conflict.

Brooklyn BreAnn

Today is Brooklyn's birthday and I can not believe she is 7!
Some things about Brooklyn:
She loves her friends
She is becoming quite the reader and writer
She is the best helper I could ask for
She is a wonderful big sister
She is missing a lot of teeth (7)
She is very good at pretending
She hates to be embarassed
She loves tv
She loves spending time with her grandparents
She is very creative and crafty
And many, many more things.
We love having her as part of our family and hope she has a great year being 7!
We had a birthday party with the grandparents on Monday.
With lots of presents and cheese cake!

And tonight we had our own family party!
She got lots of fun stuff!
And rootbeer floats for b-day cake :)
She is one happy girl!

October = Busy

This month is a busy one.  And one of my favorites!  I will be posting events as they happen so I don't have one major post at the end of the month.
First thing this month we went to the pumpkin patch at The Red Barn.  It's an annual tradition to go with Grandma Carla and many of the cousins.  We get to ride the wagon to the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin.
They had to pick one they could carry, even though Dad was nice and carried the big ones.
 My cute little "Pumpkins"

They had fun in the maze made from big apple boxes!

The ride back with pumpkins in hand.

Thanks Grandma Carla for the fun day!
Can't wait 'til next year!

Fall Leaves

Today was a beautiful day and we took a drive up Santaquin Canyon and down Payson Canyon.  The leaves are just changing and the colors are so vibrant right now. I'm glad we didn't wait any longer but who knows maybe they will just get better.
We had a picnic at Trumbolt, with some yummy doughnuts from the Red Barn!

A family pic taken with the camera timer, not too bad.
We hiked up the Narrows a little
 Shoulder rides
 Piggy back rides
And we saw this little tiny snake.
 Oh we have cute kids!
I wish it wasn't so hard to get them all smiling and looking at the same time.

 Throwing rocks in the water.

And crossing the bridge...the funnest part!
We had a fun time although we had a few falls and scrapes.
And these pictures don't do justice to the colors, they really were beautiful.
We love fall!!!
